Alright, this is the part where I get very real and three or four of you unfollow the blog while muttering “this girl is freaking insane”. Here it goes:
I get insanely excited for rainy days. It has been raining in my new town for the last three days and I couldn’t be happier (except yesterday when I decided to walk to the library and got stuck in a torrential downpour for thirty minutes. I hid in the doorway of a bank). Part of my love for the rain is this: I do my very best reading during thunderstorms.
When I wake up in the morning and hear the pitter patter of rain on the window, even in my non-morning-person stupor I get excited. More so if it’s a readathon day. The rain makes me more likely to get out of bed, turn on the coffee maker, grab the nearest feline and hop directly into the reading nook for some coveted me time.
1. Heavy rain/Thunderstorms.
2. Power Outages.
Pretty much any weather that gives me an excuse to stay home and read instead of leaving the house and being a functioning member of society/adult.
So in light of our current weather forecast – which is looking pretty dreary for the next week (yay!) – I’m feeling pretty pumped. Be on the look out for a book review or three coming soon.
